so one of my best friends is guard captain and she convinced me to try winter guard, i gave in. i like it and apparently i learn fast [says everyone]. but i hurt. everywhere. anyone have any advice? i got some guard gloves, so that should help. thanks.

hahaha, seriously? ummm there's not much you can do. i've been doing guard for awhile now, and ur just gonna b sore. altho it does get better as you get more and more used to mvoing your body (specifically arms) in those weird ways. also, stretching, even when you don't have guard, helps.

yes, i have already found the wonders of advil + heating pad. haha. it's mostly my right shoulder.

i'd say keep treating it with the heating pad and ibuprofen. if the pain persists, i'd get it checked out. it could also be that you're using your shoulders too much when you spin. remember that colorguard is more about the wrist than the shoulder or elbow. hope that helps
