Just the usual BD haters....trust me....we're used to it...nothing new.
All part of being at the top for sooooo long!
Gotta say, tho, if Crown can keep on, they WILL have a ring, and soon.
Regiment, tho.....once again, consistent in their inconsistency.
And TROOPERS!! YEAH baby!

yeah, looks like the Cavies dynasty is on the down side right now. and i was really disappointed with madison scouts!! guess the judges didn't like the super heroes. but i'd expect nothing less from the corps with the pirate show in 1997. pure awesomeness.

I was really pulling for Crown. They had an awesome year though. Absolutely awesome. If they can keep going strong like they did this year... things will be good next year. and second place really great. I wish I could have been there to see it all live.

yeah, looks like the Cavies dynasty is on the down side right now. It's not so much that...Cavies certainly don't have the consistency problems of Regiment or Madison (or SCV to a certain extent re staff)...it's just that everyone else at the top has caught up to them in terms of adjusting to what Cavies started doing in 2000. Same thing happened to Garfield in the 80s.

I am not a BD fan, but their "1930" show was VERY impressive. I quite enjoyed it, along with a few others. Well deserved Championship this year I say.

Go BD! I'm a fan! But, I'm disappointed with the other scores. They should NOT have been that low. Crown deserved much more then a 97.5!

I hate to badmouth BD - I never have - but I thought they did NOT have a winning show this year. I wasn't a huge fan of '07 either, but their technique was spectacular. 1930 almost put me to sleep at Allentown. Couldn't get into it, didn't understand the significance of the chairs, hated the bizarre drill... everything. You can't hate BD, though, since they are always incredible at what they do! This year just wasn't their year... I can't stand that they won with that show, that's all. I just felt like Carolina Crown deserved a better chance. They made it SO FAR, only to get quashed like they ALWAYS do. It's like the underdog team that makes it to the Superbowl and loses (though maybe I should look at my own argument from this angle, since I was cheering for the Steelers this year, and not the Cardinals ). Oh well, they will get a championship in the near future if they keep up the great work.

^The chairs was pulled off pretty well, in my opinion, yet still bizarre.. ;D Crown had a very strong show too. I thought the scores between them and BD would be at least a little tighter.. How come no one's mentioned Holy Name? Their show was amazing, not a clear winner however, but still up there. Their closer gave me CHILLS! Cavies disappointed me this year. They just didn't do it for me. Their show was extremely similar theme to the Academy's. Am I the only one who fell asleep during the SCV Quarterfinals? Seriously, I dozed off on a drummer's shoulder during most of it, and woke up towards the closer. Bluecoats were good, but who were the 2 corps that did the Winter theme and the Seafaring theme? I enjoyed those too. I remember one of the corps that was shown earlier that night had people out of step, on several occasions. They obviously didn't make it to Semi's but I don't remember which group it was. One thing I want to see though are the Drum Major scores.. I wish there were Open Class corps in my area, the only corps around here is The Academy. I want, no scratch that, I STARVE to do drum corps, but I'm not sure I even want to consider starting out World Class.

according to the recap, crown was stronger musically, but they struggled with visual, and so that's probably how they came out second. BD had really strong visual, but they weren't far behind musically. from a guard perspective, the BD guard had to have improved a ton from quarter-finals because i thought crown was better then. i don't know. i didn't think any of the shows were nearly as spectacular as Sparticus. btw, the seafaring show was the Colts from Dubuque, Iowa. i don't remember who the winter show was. might've been SCV.

One thing I want to see though are the Drum Major scores. Drum majors are not part of the scoring in drum corps...they have no impact on scoring at all unless they do something to cause a problem like rush a chart to go undertime (me at DCA prelims 04) or something of that nature.

Although DCA does have that "best Drum Major" award.

Although, like DCI, no matter how many times Mayer or Bruni win it, it still does noting to Govies' or Statesmen's score!
Frankly, I should've won it in 04 just for surviving Gulf Coast Sound's podium!!
