Indeed.
Birdland is a strange piece...the intro randomly changes to add an eighth and it throws me off every time.

So...as per NASA Academy tradition, we're going to Space Camp this weekend! I am far more excited than I really ought to be Things I've learned this week: -Just because a picture comes from the Hubble Space Telescope, doesn't necessarily mean it will be a good picture (although some of the images I'm working with are actually awesome) -The Workplace Safety training video was surprisingly entertaining, though it got weirdly philosophical at the very end -The cafeteria at Marshall Spaceflight Center makes some mean pancakes -There's a UVa alum going up on the next shuttle flight (which we're going to go down for the launch, even though it's a 12 hour drive that we'll probably end up driving mostly during the middle of the night, due to it being a dawn launch)

^...That sounds so cool. How did you land something like that? You can apply for it at academyapp.com. The official list of requirements is: * academic rank (junior, senior, first, or second year graduate) * academic performance (GPA higher than 3.0 or equivalent) * demonstrated interest in the space program * demonstrated leadership qualities * research and/or project interest and experience * maturity * recommendation and references * citizenship or permanent residence is required for US applicants Most of those, of course, are pretty subjective, and honestly I was surprised as anyone to find out I was selected - I wasn't really expecting it. If you can get it, though, it's an absolutely amazing program

I woke up at 5 AM today to go fishing with my parents, brother, boyfriend, and other friend. We fished for a few hours. I caught a fish, was reeling it in, and it got away. My boyfriend caught a fish. That was it.

haha, very nice.
and to answer your question in the other thread: its hard to get the threads locked because the moderators have a lot of patrolling to do anyways, and we can no longer rely on Scott to lock the threads. One day, I hope to have the honor of being able to lock the threads, but until then, we just gotta wait.

What happened to Scott anyways? Did he leave the boards?

I'm finally reading "Passion & Purity" by Elisabeth Elliot! It's slightly sad how excited I am to read this but I already can tell it's better than "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" (which was great when I was in high school and it's main purpose was more applicable to me, but now I've moved past that to somewhere between "Boy Meets Girl" and "The Bride Wore White")
