So, forgive me if I'm just whining, but as my band matures, we suddenly realized we need pants and low brass (bad combination, I know). So we're fundraising. Now, our fundraiser happens to be cookie dough, which is supposed to be an easy sell, has to be easier than the traditional fruit, but, there's a problem.
I am the worst salesman I have ever met. I cannot pitch anything to anybody. I am, for those who get the reference, the anti Michael Scott.
Can anyone please, for the love of God, Sousa and all things holy, , help me?

1. Knock on door. Wait for response before beginning pitch. Wear band shirt when you are selling. 2. When Grandma comes to the door in her bathrobe, say, Hi, I'm Ozkar and Im fundraising for the Littlebittihiskool Marching Buttes. Would you like to help support us? (note: help support works better than buy!!!) 3. Know your product. When she says, "well, I don't know sonny, what do you have", be able to tell her. Be able to tell M&M Chip from ChipnDip Wafers. Know what is low fat, sugar free, etc. And use it! Offer it helpfully if she is diabetic or on a diet. 4. Compliment her. Her house, cats, outfit, whatev. If people are in a good mood they will buy more. 5. They also buy more when hungry!!! Sell around 5PM. 6. You can NOT thank you customers enough. 7. Deliver quality product- keep yo do cold in the car. 8. Make reciepts to help ensure reliability and make you look more professional. 9. Sell to people you know!!! Family, friends not in band, moms of friends not in band, people at church, street people (though I don't know where they'd cook it), anyone!!! 10.5 years of GS cookie and nut sales experience.

Thank you very uch. Surprisingly, my whiny facebook status may have earned the first sale of the fundraiser. Funny how these things work.

Yay facebook! But also, sending in copies of the fundraiser with your parents to work is another good one, Church if you go, sports, parents' friends, teachers, neighbor, friends not in band, family...there's alot of possibilities. We do about 5 fundraisers a year at our band so fundraising isn't new to me lol.
