I know this may be a bit early, but we'ce begun discussing ours. Its a debate between Shakespeare (music from Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story and a few others) and Civil War. Fire away!

Our bd last year wanted to do American composers, but since we have a new one, he wants to do EWF.

Alladin. Every year.
Actually, we're looking at possibly doing a forcibly-simplified version of the Blue Devils' "The Godfather". I certainly hope so. However, our high brass will be a lot weaker next year compared to this one due to seniors and our strong high-octave-ers leaving.

^We have the same problem. We are losing like 8 seniors out of a section of around 25. Of those one is DM and 5 are 5/6 of the "Screamer Squad"... leaving behind one amazing junior and a lot of currently middling juniors who someone will hopefully kick in the butt this year and turn them into good musicians. We do have one fish and a couple of sophys with a lot of potential. But potential doesn't get division ones, ability does.

Yeah.. that's the problem. Our most confident player is going to a different school opening next year :\ while we have several others that can play high, they can't do it loud or well (for long). Which is problematic, given the outlook of where we seem to be going show-wise

^ In tune is where I would place my focus to start out with. If it's good it will carry volume notwithstanding.

That's what I mean - not very in-tune or confident.

I would encourage the current seniors to get with the underclassmen and coach them on that sort of thing. In my band, the members of the top ensemble actually have to coach a lower- band player's solo for a grade.

We're doing jazz. I don't know the first two pieces, but the closer is Sing, Sing, Sing. Sans trombone soli.

We're doing like a Latin-esque show. All I know is that we're thinking of playing "Time to Say Goodbye". As that is like my favorite song EVER, I have to make myself stay for this next season. edit: Director quit, time to say goodbye to "Time to say goodbye".
