I don't speak astronomy, but it's an awe-inspiring picture. Makes you think about how small us humans really are.

Ya see this? This is a professional-grade multi-spectral astronomical picture of M110, a satellite galaxy of Andromeda, taken on the 40" telescope at Fan Mountain Observatory And guess who took it? That's right. <--This guy. (Well, I was working with a lab partner, but still...) You get to take the pretty pictures while I'm just stuck graphing data on hundreds of stars. (And then there's IRAF... ) Ah, yes, IRAF. There's a reason we did this on Mira and MaximDL. (Although, if it makes you feel any better, it took us four hours to get the exposures to make that image, and another 3 hours of image reduction)

Wow, four hours? The longest I've ever spent on an exposure was an hour. Well, actually, it wasn't just one exposure- it was a whole bunch of short 240 second ones. We'd do them longer, except the tracking on the 40" isn't great, and if you do exposure any longer than that, the images start to get smeared because of the rotation of the Earth. And of course, we had to do it in three different wavelength filters (B, V, and I)

^Amazing picture by the way, my roommates just looked at me like I was insane when I showed it to them *shrug*
So I recorded myself reciting my Hebrew final sentences first in Hebrew then in English. (for those who watch my college cast, part will be in the December one). The favourite sentence of them "Hishamayim mesagerym cavowth-El." My accent is horrendous :-P
(I lied, it's being uploaded to my facebook to entertain everyone during finals)

I just got done taking the ACT for the last time... English was SUPER easy, Math was kinda hard, I didn't get to the last 5ish questions, so I had to fill in random circles. Reading was easier than I thought it would be. Science was SUPER HARD. So, I don't really know what to expect for my score...

^ What kind of things do they ask for the science part?
I have yet to take my ACT and SAT. I'll probably take ACT in February. The January one is too close to my birthday.

Science, you basically don't need to know any science. It's mostly graph interpretation. It's usually pretty easy, but this time the graphs were really confusing. Oh well. I hope I got a 31, but if I didn't, that's OK too.

I made 30 fleece tie blankets today. Well, not all 30, more like 8. It took 9 hours. It was really fun though.
And I also forgot how long basketball games really were.

We're goin to STATE!!!!! GO KATY- 2 in a row!!! The most amazing thing: Our team this year is young- we have only 5 or so seniors on the starting line. So it will be essentially the same team playing next year- only more experienced. And the current sophomore team is supposed to be the best they've seen in a while at Katy. So I could technically wind up leaving HS with my school being state champs for 4 years running, 8x overall. Woohoo!
