Okay, I've heard that ESPN won't be broadcasting the dci championships in 2008. Does anybody know for sure? I seriously hope they will!

Sadly I don't even have cable so i couldn't watch it even if it was. And sadly, i wouldn't be surprised if they don't b/c the people at ESPN probably think that marching band is a sport but it is.

Okay... just found out...
No, it will not be broadcast live to ESPN as in years past... But, it will still air on August the 7th at select movie theaters around the country via SATELLITE FEED!!! I am so going to take all of my friends (they're all band kids anyway) and call it my birthday party. Who knows... Maybe even PGTP will get dragged along... :-)

Okay... just found out... No, it will not be broadcast live to ESPN as in years past... But, it will still air on August the 7th at select movie theaters around the country via SATELLITE FEED!!! I am so going to take all of my friends (they're all band kids anyway) and call it my birthday party. Who knows... Maybe even PGTP will get dragged along... :-) They air it every year at a big theatre at my state capital, unfortunately I'll probably be at camp that week- on top of a mountain along the Appalachian trail where the big entertainment for the week is watching Veggitales at the pool. |

I think I'm going to convince the BD to make it a part of band camp. We finish practice, then everyone piles on a schoolbus and heads to CineMark to take up the entire screening room. Seniors and people with positions (me!!) first! ("If you don't let me sit where I want, PGTP, I'll take your flugelhorn back." No, that would be abuse of power.) :-D hee hee jk

go to www.fathomevents.com to find theatres or order tickets. the larger cineplexes are much likelier to show it than the small local theatres, so you'll want to check. i so wish we could go see it for a field trip for our band camp, but the closest theatre that's showing it is over 30 miles away. |
