Okay, I was wrong about them being easy. I thought the point of them was to be easy to spin...I guess I was wrong. What I meant was, the weapon line is descended from saber and rifle drill in the Army, and I think that having a "weapon" that is designed to be tossed just cheapens it. I mean, you may as well march a band full of EWIs, or better yet, keytars. They're light, always in tune, and don't require reeds. Do I make sense? For a bandie though, especially from a band that has no guard, I'm pretty Nazi about the color guard. As far as I'm concerned, they should look somewhat like a military drill team, because that is their origin, and they should treat their weapons like real weapons, as in, not touching the blade, and saluting in the right way for the weapon...okay, you get the idea. yeah, that might be what guard started as, but it's evolved into something totally different. it's less military and more dancey. just watch some modern drum corps or winterguard. guard stopped being military after the 80's.

we don't use airblades because for competing it doesn't count towards equipment time 39" plastic rifle: Blockhead Saber: slicer (my best friends is named dicer) best baton: batoney when we name them we make them all guys so it isn't weird and like no one names their flag cuz we get a different one each time other equipment names in my group rifles: freckles, bob, orange, r.i.p. banana, and dirtbag sabers: dicer, killer, and i forget the others... batons: drowner (cuz my friend got mad and tossed it and it bounced into her pool)
