I got my math homework completed easily and fairly quickly. Tomorrow is the pizza party for our class that won for raising the most money for charity. Our Band Banquet/concert is tomorrow, which means tomorrow is the last day of being in a Houston County High School Performing Ensemble, since this is our last thing before we start working on marching band music. While this is sad, I have two band classes and one of them is with eighth graders. The immaturity started to screw with me about a month ago. But now I get to help teach them how to march, help them with their music, etc. I like this better, because it's new to them and they aren't restless with it.

The Derby's tomorrow! I'm really tempted to wear a ridiculous hat around town and make mint tea (since I'm obviously not going to have a mint julep) And the Music Banquet is Monday!

My band just got a "I" at States for the first time ever in the history of our school! I am so happy that we were able to give my BD a little bit of glory, because he really is an awesome guy... who deserves a chocolate shake.

I survived Arts of the Knight! I even managed to do a complete outfit change in under two minutes (I was still a bit late for the act, though). And I get to see my Choir Director perform in her choir today! And tomorrow I might go to the MN Youth Symphonies concert! (They're the best youth orchestras in the state and I might try out this fall.)

Band banquet was last night. It was really fun and I actually felt pretty for once! It was great. Then today my dad brought me to the car dealership, and we put a down payment on my car and I should be getting a call sometime next week telling me when it will be in! it will probly be in at the end of the month. My birthday is next week, and I'm turning 16, YAY!!!! And then at the end of the month 22-26 our band is going to New York for band trip! I'M SO EXCITED! THE MONTH OF MAY ALWAYS ROCKS!!!

I couldn't decide where this went so I'll put it here. Tonight was the Music Department's Award Banquet. I'm sort of sad now.
the grades got their little awards and then my BD did his goofy awards. I don't think I've been that embarrassed in a long, long time. He starts going on about how there's a always a growth award yada yada yada and then he starts talking about the recipient and how "as a freshmen, if you looked at her crosswise she would make this face" (sad puppy-dog face) "and would ask what she did wrong" and my stomach dropped, he then asked the band who they thought it was... yeah... me. According to my friends my face matched my shirt:-[, I sprinted off stage after that. Though it is special that he gave me an award. he also wrote cards to everyone. I thought it would be a short little message like 'thanks for being in band' but he put a good deal into them, he filled up the card! He even remembered I'm going to Texas!
All of it made me almost sad to leave... almost.

^Yeah, we had ours too, but we all got awards. I got the "scrounger" award for finding stuff, and my letter. That's my happy-room thing.
That and seven school days left. Amen! Hell yeah!

^Envious, even as a senior and with a trip to DC I still have eleven days left not including my final. Anywho, I finally have video of me riding. I haven't seen it yet so I might not be so happy after I see it **edit** now that I've watched it, it's not that bad- except for the fact I'm wearing breeches and the straight Egyptian spazz I'm riding has his tongue hanging out the entire time. Breeches are flattering on no female form- they must have been invented by a man, there's no other explanation.

I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANY PHYSICAL THERAPY!!!!!!!
Instead of taking out my plica like they were first planning, they discovered that I had an extra layer of tissue in my knee. So they took that out. And right now I'm feeling NADA because the general anesthesia hasn't completely worn off, I got a shot of local in my knee with the general, and my mom gave me a painkiller (they told the padres to give me one 3 hours after I got home).
So I still don't think I'm all here currently, but it still feels pretty nice.

Today, my adv. English teacher told me he wants to use my narrative as an example in class--and not in years to come, but next week. While all the regular and adv. English students are revising and editing their essays, mine will be the example he shows in class. I mean, I'm not glad exactly because it's the sample, but because that means I'm bound to get a good grade, and I need one to counteract my dismal punctuation scores and whatever the heck comes out of our "Death of a Salesman" unit.
I'm also happy because I realized how great I have it in my band. Despite how cruel kids in a h.s. band can be, I know that I can take them on, because last night at my old bd's concert at a college that I played in, I met some of the biggest, most conceited and petty jerks in the world. I can deal with my marching band now. If I could put up with the crap I got from those guy clarinets last night, I'm practically invincible.
