I'm a Male Flute and Picc Player. First chair too... girls don't like it when guys have first chair flute. I learned that the hard way O.o;;
My G/F plays trumpet, she's one of those weird... NON-egotistical trumpet players.

We had 2 male flutes in my section. Both were named Andrew. One was white, and called the flute god. He can make flutes, but just lacks a studio. The other one just graduated. He was the best section leader I know. Imagine a tall Samoan flute SL, with shoulders so broad he can't left lateral. Hence why he played the piccolo in the shows.

There's a male flautist my year at my high school. I haven't been in his band class since freshman year (it's a LOT harder to get into wind ensemble on flute than oboe.) But I remember that in middle school he was really good. The only person who could play better than him had the major advantage of her mom being a flute teacher I was talking to a rather strange character on the bus once (for the purpose of this story, it should be noted that he also plays violin and is Taiwonese) and my friend (who, again, for the purpose of this story I should reveal to be Chinese) commented that her brother had quit violin. The first person I mentioned was like "does he play flute?" and my friend said no, and he, I quote, said "then he should be stripped of his asian status." Of course, he's pretty much the only person I know who could get away with saying that. 'k I'm done.

Yay for an all-female flute section? Not really. But you get my point.
Ergghh. I've abandonded the trumpet and decided to come back to the flute. I'm much better at it anyway

We have an all-female section this year. It depresses me.

We have so much drama in my section, it's not even funny. I wasn't even welcomed back all-too warmly when I told them I wasn't playing trumpet this year. I'm fourth chair out of about 10-11 members. Why wouldn't they want me back?

I play clarinet. I used to be able to get a sound out of a flute but it's harder than it used to be. I may have to learn for jazz band though.

i play the clarinet but have ALOT of friends that play the flute(on my soccer team 6/18 are in band and 4/6 of them play flute) i try to play their flutes whenever BD isnt looking (you just dont try to learn other instruments in middle school) and can barely make a sound on it...in beginner band i tried out for it and made 8/25 and 24/25 on clarinet so i have to give yall flute players credit.

I'm first chair at my school. =D I beat the juniors and seniors. But I LOVE piccolo lots more. They only reason I didn't play it in wind ensemble was because I got first chair, and I wanted it. They didn't like me that much for doing that....
