I haven't harmed Aneira (concert flute) in any way, but Travis's (marching flute) foot joint has flown off when I go to horns up. Not my instrument (neither have I actually seen it), but this one girl's clarinet was on the ground ... on the band field (which is the back parking lot) ... and a car ran it over. When Mr. O told the freshmen that story, I was like .

All the right hand keys on my old flute fell off of the body once D: Only because of the screw being really loose ><
Luckily it wasn't that big of a deal (but at the time I was horrified) and the guy who fixed it didn't charge us because it took him like... 5 minutes... to fix it.

This November we were practising parading (first time of the year with a Santa Claus Parade coming up) I had a loose screw the the top bank of keys on my clarinet. I decided to be really gentle with it. It was going well, but the screw must have come out on parade. At dismissal, we were put to the ready, and when we were brought to attention, the entire left hand set of keys just sailed through the air... I was sort of shocked, and felt sorry for Johnson (my clarinet's name after he became an amputee). Now I keep a screwdriver in my pocket at all times lol.

No but my friend has killed her clarinets to many times. She's broke the cork, chipped off large pieces of mouthpiece on 2 SEPARATE MOUTHPIECES, and more that i don't really know about. Poor clarinet

well i flung my tuning slide on my trumpet and it hit my section leader in the back of my head, and slid across the pavement and got stepped on... it was quite emotional.

I didn't brake it, and it was the schools instrument, but I still cried. My tuba (I calle dhim mine), Robert, I wen tot get him from the case and his lead pipe had gotten bent UPWARD! The brace that keeps it inplace had been loose for monthes, and somehow it broke. You know when you fold/bend a hose. This is what it looked like. IN TWO SPOTS! Oh, I'm so sad still.
Then, when I was in basic band and didn't really care, (my pasion came when I started tuba), I didn't but greese on my tuning slide on my trumpet EVER and I had to go in and get the slid chemically removed. The trumpet was crap to begin with though, so that added on top wasn't too bad.

One time we were at practice, and someone either footjoint or headjoint came off on their flute, so we rolled around and crawled around the field, IN THE DARK, until we found it. It was great, we were running into each other, and everyone was like so jealous of us. GO FLUTES AND PICCS!

I bent a key on Vanessa (my old sax) so i couldn't play at all. and it was like that all summer because my mom wouldn't go get it fixed in 8th grade band our bd was giving his speech on "Don't leave your instruments laying around" then he showed us some 7th grader's flute that the main part of it was bent three times and it was all crushed. it was horrifying.
