I don't know when this started, but there's this one cheer that the band always does with the cheerleaders. It's really their cheer, but the band has taken over. In fact, I'd say more than half the band knows all their cheers, so what's the point of cheerleaders? lol.
We got spirit, uh huh uh huh, yeah yeah We got spirit, uh huh uh huh, yeah yeah We got WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? A WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT... WE GOT SPIRIT!!! etc.
[During the cheer, the bass drums play along with the syllables of the words]
Oh! Another one between the band and the cheerleaders is this:
[Cheerleader] Let's hear all the freshmen yell: [Freshmen in band] GO FORT LEE!!! Let's hear all the sophomores yell: GO FORT LEE!!! Let's hear all the juniors yell: GO FORT LEE!!! Let's hear all the seniors yell: GO FORT LEE!!! Let's hear the band yell: GO FORT LEE!!! Let's hear the Bridgemen yell: GO FORT LEE!!!
We're always competing on which class can yell/scream the loudest. x )
We also do this semi-obnoxious thing to the cheerleaders. Whenever they end a phrase, and there's a slight pause, we repeat whatever they said last. Even if they're spelling something like "W-I-N!" We'll respond with "N!!"

actually. I'm from cedar shoals, and we do the go gorilla cheer. she went here a while back. so that's cool. but just in case someone doesn't know how it goes. it goes a lil somethin like this. Go Gorilla! go go gorilla! go gorilla go go gorilla! swing to the left! swing to the right! peel your banana and UHH! take a bite. Like this? ;D www.talesfrombandcamp.com/cgi-bin/tfbcarchive.cgi?date=19980801We had some classic cheers that we did "back in the day" but I heard the current band director got rid of them. Good to see that the Go Gorilla cheer is still around though. ;D what are some of the old cheers? we could probably bring them back.

We don't have a song that is just for us per se, but I like to think of it as that. After our football teams gets a first down, we have a song for it. Right after the song, we say, O-H-S, WE ROCK THIS HOOOOOOUSE!

Our band is known in Maine for being the loud one with cheers
We have "Who's Your Big Fat Daddy?": Single person (mainly me this year): Who's your big fat daddy? HUH! Whole band: Who's your big fat daddy? Huh! Who's your big fat daddy in the school yard? Who's your... big fat daddy? (In loud grunt) WHO'S YOUR BIG FAT DADDY? HUH!!!
We also have one we call "Boogidty" Single person (usually me again): Bogidty bogidty bogidty boo whole band: Bogidty bogidty bogidty boo me: RA HA HA HA whole band: RA HA HA HA me: AAAAAAEEEEEOO band: AAAAAAEEEEEOO repeat until everyone is tired of it
And after awards we all rush the field to the DM and we have one called "Eyes with Pride" DM: Detail a ten-hut. Band: HUT (we all go to attention) DM: How are your feet? Band: TOGETHER DM: Stomach? Wow...these are pretty amazing!
I'm sure there are more, but the only one I can remember is we say "OOOHHHHH" when our team is doing a kick off, and then we yell "DROP THE BALL" when it's kicked.

We have a few that we like to do at competitions. In the stand we jsut cheer with the cheerleaders (which, I'd like to add, is IMPOSSIBLE!! They don't cheer; they whimper). Boys (or band parents): WHO WE ROOTIN' FOR? Girls (or band): M-C-H-S!! (repeat) Chick: M-C! Band: M-C! Chick: N-A! Band: N-A! Chick: I-R! Band: I-R! Together: Y' YOU WANNA MESS WITH US?! There are others, but I like those the best

We've got a few.
1 - Woodwinds: @-$-$-@-$-$ WHAT!? Brass: @-$-$-@-$-$ WHAT?! repeat again. Its from marching band days, and kind of dying out. Which is sad. It was more of a between buses cheer, and now we don't have funding for buses to games.
2: When we're close to the end zone the drumline plays our favorite cadence, I'd give you the beat but I'm not a drummer, so it'd be really wrong. Anyways, at the end we all yell STICK IT IN STICK IT IN UH! with the pelvic thrust motion, and it gets repeated again. We get strange looks from the students. Although the cheerleaders have adopted this and started doing a routine to it. So its not so strange anymore.
Hmmm... Our drum major gets in front of us, and makes an "O" with their hands. We yell "ohh" loud to soft to loud depending on how they move it. This is always fun.
There are more I can't remember now.

"Beat em bust em, that's our custom, beat em in the head with a brick... HUH" *insert pelvic thrust* OR As the brass like it "Beat em bust em thats our custom, cap em in the a$$ with a nine B***h!"
and then, to our cadence (that may or may not be the same as TSU) Fik, fik fik-a-ta-ah, fik fik a fik a what, what, fik fik fik fik-ta-ah! and then later Aw, hell no, whoop whoop (of course, we had to change Hell no, to Aw quack quack whoop whoop because...well... we just did.)

Kick 'em in the shin bones, drag em through the mud! rip their hairy arms off! we want blood! makes the grass grow! kill! kill! KILL!!!
I do a death metal kinda scream at the kill kill kill part and hold for about 5 seconds after the rest of the band is done. I get plenty of stares at away games...

I We got spirit, uh huh uh huh, yeah yeah We got spirit, uh huh uh huh, yeah yeah We got WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? A WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT... WE GOT SPIRIT!!! etc. ha we do that one too, only our cheer'leaders' do a little hip movement thing with it and all these guysin the bad will get up and do a far more exaggerated and far more inappropriate version of it! also, our drumline will start just beating on their drums during breaks and our DM's will start to fake fight each other and punch to the beat and when the drum gets aster they go into a frenzy, its kinda' funny. and the flutes started this one but the trumpets adopted it All - hey *insert name here*! (for our purposes we will say lindsey) Person - hey what? All - hey Lindsey! Lindsey - hey what? All - hey Lindsey... shake your booty!! Lindsey - NO way!! (shakes head) All - YES! Lindsey - NO! All - YES! Lindsey - ok! (shrugs shoulders and turns around and shakes booty) umm, thats abou tall i can think of right now... though... i'm sure theres more ;D

And the saxes, we have a cheer of our own. "We have sax appeal! Uh!" Yeah...one of us even has a shirt that says that... That's my section call. When the DMs say "BAND ATTEN-HUT!" everyone yells "HUT!" right? So at band camp, we do it in sections. The SL will yell "*Section* ATTEN-HUT!" and they yell something witty in response, but it has to be three syllables so it fits the call beat. Saxes is "Sax Appeal!" duh Trumpets have several, but I'm pretty sure right now it's "Blow don't suck" Mellos- "Lick our Bells" Guard- "We kick Brass" I don't know the ones for Perc and Sousa. Flutes- "We are men" Clarinets- "We smoke reed" But the one painted on the wall in the storage room is "Poles with holes" Yes, we paint our calls on the wall in the storage room. We put something new up every year.
