Well then, it's probably bcoz your schools are so big they can have their own fields. A band hall is a band room with soundproof padding on the walls and instrument storage. It also has a fairly high ceiling, usu. higher than the rest of the school for acoustic reasons.

8 to 12 -- first week.
if the drill isn't written yet, we do music for the first 2 hours and basics for the last two. if the drill IS written, then we pretty much spend most of the time doing that drill.
then the second week we go up to the mountains for band camp. i dunno if this is totally accurate, but it's close.
6:45 am -- morning meditation [for freshmen] 8:00 am -- breakfast 9:00 am -- sectionals Noon -- lunch [after lunch is free time] 4:00 pm -- full band rehearsal 5:00 pm -- dinner 7:00 pm -- marching [when i went this year, we didn't do it at all, so usually this turns into free time] 8:00 pm -- campfire/activity
the curfew varies. it's usually midnight unless we do something bad. it's 2am on the last night.
we're pretty lucky, as you can see.

Fluteninja-how did the kids at camp handle it? well, we have cabins with bathrooms and showers in them. and you can take cell phones with you up there. so we can handle it, i guess!

on the first friday we do band camp at the beach. Its fun taking up all the grass area for marching, then we BBQ for dinner and our familys come. After diner we march in the sand a little then do a final drill down. After that we surf, swim, and eat mashmallows.Except for avoiding seagulls, being made fun of by cheerleaders who somehow are always at the beach, and the perpetual taste of salt water, its al good fun.or at least the closest thing to camp we will come

marching band camp 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM -- q cards/practice it 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM -- get music/practice it 9:00 AM to noon -- basically both put together It's short, I know... but that's all I know of the marching band camp ATM. I'll know more during the summer (:

It's 10-11 am in the beginning of the "band camp", like July, with certain sections. (we just go into the school weekdays, and for most of the day, so most people call it band camp.) When the whole band gets together its probally an hour longer. Week by week, it gets longer. Soon drill week comes, and we are there from 9 am to 3 pm. An hour long lunch sometime around there. And that's how it is until our first game. Then we have 7:30 in the morning practice from Tues. to Thurs. Don't show up for 2 of those, you don't go on the field that Friday.

Our schedual is just... like all day. Camp Actually starts on August 20th, but we hace practices before that. So: July, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 8:30am to 11:30 am
July, 20-24 MANDATORY BAND CAMP 8am-4am/6:30pm-9pm
July 28-30; August 4-6, 11-13, 18-20 8:30am to 11:30am
August 19 Miami County Fair, Leave School at 5:30pm
Then after ALL of that, we have after school practices from 2:45 to 5:00 on Tues, Wed, and Thurs.
