Our band camp is usually the week where July ends and August begins, Monday - Saturday. Freshman year it was 8 AM - 8 PM, this past year it was 8 AM - 9 PM. I'm not sure what it will be this coming year... still too far off to know... Here's basically the schedule from this past band camp:
8 - 11:30 = Practice outside 11:30 - 12:30 (I think...) = Lunch 12:30 - 3:00 = Sectionals inside 3:00 - 4:30 = Full band rehersal inside 4:30 - 6:00 = Supper 6:00 - 8:00 = Practice outside 8:00 - 9:00 = Social time ... changes every day... some days we just hung out in the gym, some days we played cards, etc.
I can't really remember the times very well. Those were pretty close though (I think).

THIS year (2006 season) it was:
8-12: practice outside (mostly fundamentals) 12-1: Lunch 1-uhm...maybe 2?: Sectionals 2-4?: Full band indoor rehearsal 4-5: Free time 5-6: Dinner 6-9: Outside rehearsal
I may have messed the times up in there...
Anyways, but we had some "off" days. Like: Moday: drug and alchohol meeting...ended after-dinner practice early Wed. : talent show...ended after-dinner practice early Thursday: pictures...cut out break time, had dinner at a different time and extended indoor rehearsal (we were gonna go outside but it was storming...so instead we practiced our instruments for like 5 hours) Friday: day cut...came back for concert
This year out scheduel will be different...but I don't know all the details yet

When I first went to band camp, our schedule was like this:
Warm-ups and stretches at 8:30 AM. Outside for marching instruction at 9 AM. 3 hours of that, and then lunch break at high noon... After lunch (12:30) we would practice on the field show. That would last 3 more hours. At 3 we would take a short break, usually 10 minutes. 3:10 PM: More field show practicing. At 4 PM, we would move inside to work on pep band music. 5 PM was the dismissal time.
Our band camp was done at school, and it took place in late August, from Monday through Friday.

This year (2007) we had a week of music rehearsals from like 9-12. Then the next week was band camp 9-5. Then the next week was band camp 9am-9pm I THINK not totally sure. It was a longer day though. But our daily scheduel was about the same as the year before, with morning fundementals, lunch, sectional, full band rehearsal, outdoor rehearsal, dinner, outdoor rehearsal.

Ours was 9-5 for one week M-F, 2 weeks before school starts. Ours was at our school. Usually the first day would be marching instruction in the morning and indoor rehearsals in the afternoon, and after that it would be field show/sectionals the whole day and then indoors for a few hours at the end.

Well, ours was just one week, so we didn't have much time to practice before our first field show. So that meant every day we had to work hard, which was good.

Ours is the last 3 weeks before school starts. First 2 weeks- morning= marching practice, then lunch, then music practice inside in the afternoon.

^ wow I'm so lucky in comparison. Ours is only a week. The first day of camp is 9am-9pm with from 9-12 for rookie training. After that is noon to nine. 12:00-3:00,inside full band 3:00-4:30,sectional outside(flutes end up on the other side of the school so we can hear ourselves 4:30-5:00,unity games 5:00-6:00,dinner no leaving campus 6:00-9:00,stretch and run, basics block, field show
Yep our school is a big sports school so we don't get the field till after they're done. The worst part is only having three hours to teach complete rookies to march,no wonder most of them cant play and march

^ oh,the reason why we dont practice outside on another field is the only place large and flat enough to practice is the basket ball courts which can only be used for parade practice.Parking lot is out due to cars being in it and sports complain about the Dr.Beat disrupting their focus(if only they knew...).Any sugestions on a practice place?

Woops--- almost forgot--- last wk it's 3:30-6, all marching practice. The rival school's field On the front lawn of the scool (Line it. They'll give you a field then!) In the gym (AC!) in the band hall if it's just for fundamentals (ours is lined) in the district stadium (we do this at least 2x during band camp just to get used to it) in the locker room hallway (with Dr Beat at full volume) We actually have 2 special marching camps just for fish- 1 in spring of 8th grade yr. and 1 the week before main band camp.

Our gaurd is in the gym and our cheer in the main school Our school campus is small becaus the school is 4 storys and compleatly round(think ugly orange flying saucer)so thet dont have any flat large spaces(even the parking lot is full of dips and bumps and curves) Whats a band hall-is it a band room b/c if so ours has no storage so their is no room

If you live in a big city, you probably have a stadium where you go to play football/soccer/lacrosse/etc because, well, there isn't room for one where you are. I live in a little tiny town, so we have about 100 feet between the stadium and the school.
