This year, our band is doing a "Phantom of the Opera" show. We start out with the theme, then to "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again." Then we play "Maskquerade," and then we close it with "Music of the Night." It's an awesome show, because we wear masks and whenever we get it on the field, we're gonna get the drum major to disappear through a "mirror," just like in the movie. I cant wait untill we finish it!

URI has four shows this year, in addition to the standard pre-game fare of fight song, alma mater, etc.
Show one was an R&B show with Groove Me, Green Onions, and Everybody's Everything.
Show two was a cartoon show, with The Simpsons, The Jetsons, the Flintstones, and a walk-off arrangement of Family Guy that I wrote.
Show three is Star Wars, which is a 9+ minute arrangement of all the big themes from all six movies. As if that weren't cool enough, it starts off with that 20th Century Fox fanfare deal.
Show four will be be a jazz show, with Caravan, Sing Sing Sing, and Sweet Georgia Brown.
College band is DEFINITELY a step up from (most) high school bands, and I'm not even in one of the big midwestern bands. I love it!

We're doing "An American Timeline" which "traces 1900's American History in music" Our first song is based on Simple Gifts (an arrangement by Aaron Copeland), then we have a '40s jazz tune, and then a really fast (172 and then 188!!) modern piece complete with a "rap"

Maybe it was you last time but THAT'S WHAT WE DID LAST YEAR! You didn't buy the drill did you? We did that last year. It is a pretty good show. I love the music and I still sort of remember the moves. When we did Eleanor Rigby though, it wasn't a trombone solo in there, though they did have like a soli that was really cool. We had a trumpet solo. We also had one for Yesterday, and Hey Jude (favorite). All right anyway We're doing a Disney's Millenium Celebration kinda theme this year with Tapestry of Nations (favorite) Reflections of Earth (it's good but not as awesome as the others to me) We Go On (this is an awesome one too AND WE HAVE THE GREATEST ENDING FOR IT IN THE WORLD--okay it's a nice ending--and it is a song--yes it has lyrics) We do not have a second show this year my bd has announced. Fine with me because the second show is always crappy. I don't want to think about it. But our show this year is so magical and happy and just...awesome.

west....side....stoy
and the arranger completly screwed up the melodies in some of the songs. It makes me mad....I never wated to play it. The whole band voted pretty much unanimouselly that we wanted to play Mangione Magic....but hte "Band Parents' Association" decided they liked west side sytory better....I sneeze snot on it

But they said after a while it just sort of grew on them and they began to like it. Maybe it could grow on you?

Though I don't think anyone would know these songs, but Our show here in ohio is called "A New Beginning" The songs we play are all writen by the same guy. Our school never plays anything that people have heard of but the songs are:
In filght Each time You Tell Their Story (this title was not half as bad as last years ballad "Make our Garden Grow." >.<) Novo Leneo.
Thats it. Oh yea whoever is playing vehicle for their show.. that rocks we play that as a stand tune!
Next year we might play ether the "Prince of Egept" or A mario theme.
