here is my advice:
never, EVER show up at an audition without having practiced EVERYTHING you are going to be auditioned on. even if it's something you know you can do. even if it's something you can do in your sleep, practice it anyways. it could be the defining factor.

The number one thing to remember is to not get nervous!! It doesn't help the situation. Just relax and tell yourself your going to do an awsome job. Good luck!

hi me again. i kno i posted the original topic sometime in october and im slightly amazed its still here. why am i back? distict band audition tomorrow at least i dont feel as nervous this time since i already got in, this is just for chair seats. and i know the music a whole lot better. so thanks for the tips...i'll let u kno how it goes tomorrow and probly add my own

well i went to my auditions today the first section was the one i had practiced most and knew best. i screwed it up pretty badly tho cuz i guess i was nervous. my tone quality sucked. the second section was better, i only missed on note although my tone quality still was not great the third piece i played perfectly. it just annoys me that i've played so much better.... blah

yay! i started a frankenthread! i got 2nd chair out of 3 for fourth horn... so i did medium i guess. now i know what to do for next time anyway
