Out of curiosity, would anyone know what I'm talking about if I mentioned the 27th Lancers? Yes. Anyway, I don't have one favorite corps, but the ones I root for the most are Phantom Regiment, Bluecoats, Santa Clara Vanguard, and The Cadets. I like the Cavaliers, but their stuff is starting to all sound the same to me. And to whoever mentioned Boston Crusaders, have you checked out their show from 2000, Red? Good stuff.

Kind of partial to the Bluecoats... Living near Canton... Actually, last time I went to a show, I was growing fond of the Blue Devils. Out of curiosity, would anyone know what I'm talking about if I mentioned the 27th Lancers? Pfff...27th Lancers?Come on,you know Sacramento Freelancers,Velvet Knights and the Anaheim Kingsmen are the way to go,boi. haha.

I was just watching some of the Cavaliers old stuff. Wow. That is... I don't even know what to say. So obviously I like them. A lot. Now if they weren't all-male...
There are also a lot of really good drum corps in my area. I've seen Minnesota Brass Inc. perform live twice, and I mean, they aren't the Cavaliers, but hey. They are incredibly musical.
(I just recently got hooked on drum corps, so bear with me if I'm not as knowledgeable as the rest of you.)
The thing that kills me is that there are some competitions this weekend that I can't go and see... and Santa Clara Vanguard is gonig to be there! And whenever I see marching bands or DCI competitions on TV, my parents just change that channel and exchange the "when did our daughter become such a band freak?" look.
Oh well.

I know how you feel. I'm into drum corps this year even more than ever! I also want to see SCV this season (I heard their show "!" online and it sounds great, except for when the people in the crowd yell "Eureka!" and "VANGUARD!" at the completely wrong times). Actually, I've only ever seen them live once. Let's just face it: they don't come out east very often. I was watching ESPN2 today and they had the dog show on... before I realized it was ESPN 2, I was like, "Okay, if they have the dog show on regular ESPN, but put drum corps on ESPN2, I'll be REALLY PISSED." Speaking of favorite corps, Carolina Crown is gradually moving up in my ranks. I think they are so classy, probably as classy as Phantom Regiment, but with more humor and versatility. I can't wait for the rest of the season to see how all of my favorite corps (Crown, Bluecoats, Cavaliers, and Phantom) shape up!

I enjoy the Cavaliers, but I haven't seen them this season at all. :-(
My season favorites as of now are the Colts and the Scouts.

I went to the Jacksonville Alabama show on July 15.
I loved the Cavaliers show. I thought that it would be not as good as years past. I was wrong. It's actually my third favorite show they have done Behind Spin Cycle and Frameworks.
Spirit really surprised me also. I thought their show was going to be O.K. I really liked their show this year, especially the drill.
Then there is the matter of the Blue Devils. I am a Blue Devils fan, but I did not like their show this year at all. It didn't really go anywhere in my opinion. It just sounded like a bunch of notes that didn't have any direction. I even listened to the show on the way home 3 times and still didn't like it.
I had a lot of fun. I loaded up on Blue Devil and Cavalier DVD's and CD's (I saved money from Christmas just for this show. I think I spent $365 total.) I also bought a few T-Shirts.
