you know you're a band nerd when (or at least a drumline nerd) you all of a sudden realize you don't have a life in winter when you thought you did.

You know when your a band nerd when... -most of your closet has band shirts in it -you're bored during the summer and you go to the band hall to "hang out" -you put your band director's phone number in your phone under "family" -all your friends are in band -you think someone is cool because they are/ were in band -if you tell your parents the people you are with are band nerds, they say oh ok, bye have fun.

you know you're a band nerd when you put a program in you calculator to figure out how many hertz each note is. (speaking of which, I can't find my calculator anywhere. It's kind of scary)

I've got a new one: You know you're a band geek when you arrange your AIM Buddy list into groups by what instrument everyone plays. GENIUS! you know you're a band nerd when you start marching in a store to pass the time.

Hehehehe...I have a great big list of this stuff! 1) you are constantly going over your drill 2) The music has been stuck in your head since band camp 3) you've pretty much have never been to home coming 4) you go over fingering or drumming or guard routines over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over 5) your relatives have put a lock on your phone number because you are always selling something. 6) one more time never means one more time take better care of your horn then your car (that applies to me especially) 7)you've called your band director dad 8)Walk in step with the people around you 9)know what a shako is 10)spend more time in the band room then home 11)You've closed all your other accounts on everything else, and dedicate your life to this forum *raises hand* 12)You're STILL on band forums when your doing homework. 13)You've marched (in place) your entire opener while your parents talk to close friends *guilty* 14)You randomly point out who's in marching band, even though you don't know their names. (Look! He plays the (instrument here) 15)You're actually laughing and nodding your head while reading these. And even more, here, on our band site: lovelandband.org/forums/index.php?topic=643.0

When your parents ask who [username] is, you reply, Oh it's my band friend, like you hang out with them everyday. (guilty. My dad asked who NotAStalker was, and I said, "Oh, she's that band friend from TFBC who I'm always talking to" and then I went on from there. Same deal with SaxGirl1010)

You know you're a band geek when... ...a piece you played in the fall of your freshman year is still stuck in your head - and you're a junior. ...you design a personalized workout routine for the express purpose of getting in shape for band camp.
And you know you're a music nerd in general when... ...you subscribe to "The Instrumentalist," "Strings," "Teaching Music," "General Music Today," and the "Journal of Research in Music Education" as an undergraduate.

You know you're a band nerd when you measure time it takes to get somewhere with drum corps shows.
Person: How long did it take you to get there? Me: Well I listened to all of the Cavaliers 2003 and 2004 show and made it to the interlude of Machine, so about 26 minutes.

I'm guilty of taking the current comic a bit too far:
You know you're a band nerd when you check to make sure that a tuba bell can fit in the trunk of your car...and you play the piccolo.

You REALLY know you're a band geek when after you get one college degree, you decide to go back to school to not only learn how to play all the other instruments but how to fix them as well.
