I hate Hersheypark Stadium. THAT'S IT. 82.15. We dropped a point from last week. Ridiculous. A band should not be expected to do an excellent show after sitting on a bus for four hours with unfocused drabble going on constantly, watching DVDs, then eating at an Old Country Buffet, and then being kicked off the bus, and doing basics with no yardlines.

Nope. We're good enough to do it, but our director is against us doing it at the moment because our concert band isn't up to par with our marching band yet. We should be in the next few years though.

Pride of Florida Marching Band Competition Cape Coral High School Cape Coral, Florida.
4th Place Division AA 11th Place Overall
We did really bad, to be honest. 4th place is not satisfactory for us, and our DM was emphasizing it the whole way back to the band room. 11th place overall was worse, since we've sunk to the level of our rival band, Riverdale.
But, alas, I must congradulate Mariner HS for first place overall. They did an awesome job

Route 66 Competition at Rolla, MO. Outstanding Horn Line Outstanding Auxiallary 1st place in the Black Division
This was my last marching competition and my band, who had nothing more than a 4th place to show for the entire 4 years we've been competing, took 1st in our division. And 4th out of the entire compeition. This was the most proudest day of my entire life, and I know I will never forget it.
As lead drum major, accepting that award, made me so excited, I was crying from the second it was in my hands. When we were celebrating and a group of freshman walked up to me and said "We did it all for our seniors" I was hysterical, crying and laughing, it was the best moment of my year, and life so far.
Oh, and did I mention I almost got puked on on the ride home by the trombone in front of me who stuck his head out of the bus window and started hurling? Nice huh.

Ok.... Accepting what happened these past two weekends is the first step to moving on with life...
10/20/2007 Bandmaster's Championship Liberty Bowl, Memphis
2nd place band AAAA Overall Guard AAAA Overall Percussion 2nd place class AAAA Overall Best Percussion
We lost by .005. I think that if we had been the last band to march, we would have won it, but the 3rd place band and the 1st place band marched after us, and until us, there really weren't REALLY REALLY good bands to get the scoring up.
Contest of Champions MTSU stadium
10th place band overall
When one judge has you in 4th and another in 22nd... you don't make finals. The West TN curse is real.

Cavalier Classic Showcase of Bands East Burke High School, Connelly Springs, North Carolina
2nd Place Hornline 2nd Place Field Battery 2nd Place Pit Percussion 2nd Drum Major 2nd Colorguard 2nd Place Band Class AA Excellent Rating
We lost to a school that hasn't lost in 25 Years. And they only beat us by 11 Points. Not too bad I think. Its a shame we got an excellent though. It was olympic judging and it was just bad....not good judging at all. Some judges had us in the 30s for an overall score and some had us up in the 90s.Averaged together,we got like a 78.It was bad. Yay for regular judging at our last competition but boo because its my last competition ever.

FBA District 18 Marching Assesment Ft. Myers High School Ft. Myers, Florida.
Music-Superior(Both judges) Marching and Manuvering-Superior General Effect-Superior Auxiliary-Superior
It's a marching assesment, so Superior=1 and so on. We were so nervous when they announced the scores, since we went on after Immokalee and before Estero, and Immokalee got straight superiors, so yeah. We went absolutely crazy when they read off the scores. This year's been stressful and we haven't done well at anything, and to hear this score lifted a huge burden off our chests and let out seniors go out with a bang; superiors all four years.
I love this band. <3

Tri-State Marching Band Festival Joan C.Edwards Stadium at Marshall University Huntington,West Virginia
1st Place Music 1st Place General Effect 2nd Place Marching 3rd Place Percussion 1st Place Band Class A2 Superior Rating
When they called out the minor captions and we only got 3rd in Percussion we thought we had lost it all. Before giving class placement they called out the bands that only did not finish in the top 3.We all thought they had forgot to give us our participation trophy even up until they gave out 2nd place overall. When they announced us 1st,we all died. Nobody saw it coming.
Best year ever. Superior 5/6 competitions,we beat close to 60 schools out of all competitors in all classes. We were only beat once...I think its safe to say this was the best season in our schools 48 year history.

USSBA Marine Corps Invitational Navy/Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Annapolis, MD 90.90. Not so bad. We did better there last year (93.7). We also did not win any captions for Group VI, which is a surprise, but I think our show was very good. It was the first (and last) time all season that we played the show completely together - no phasing at all. In retrospect, that's kind of pathetic, but at least we accomplished it by the end of the season. Of course, there are always quirks and circumstances that make you think you could have done better. See, in fact, we are actually a Group V band, but when we registered with USSBA, we were right on the cusp of V and VI, and when we lost 4 people over band camp for various reasons, we technically dropped down to Group V. Yet we still compete in Group VI because USSBA makes you stay in the group you register in. If we would have competed in Group V, we would have place 1st (instead of 4th or 5 bands) and probably gained a few captions. Oh well. I'm pretty happy for my last high school marching band competition ever.

Sam Houston State University Marching Band Festival Sam Houston State Stadium Huntsville, Texas
Grand Champion.
Serious pwnage right there. We partied on the field after that performance. We got a standing ovation.

BOA Super Regional - San Antonio Alamodome San Antonio, Texas
6th place in prelims 11th place in finals
Amazing prelims performance. Standing ovation. I think we really amped up the crowd. Decent Finals performace. Not our best, but probably our 2nd or 3rd best. Still, great way to end the year.
