University of Idaho- the Sound of Idaho
The kind of band that celebrates homecoming by playing with 1100 other band kids from mostly small schools, ranging from 3rd graders up through high school.

I am a proud member of the Tyler Junior College Apache Band trombone section. Our directors are the coolest ever, they spend 10+ hours a day at the band hall helping ppl out and runnig the band. They are totaly devoted to band, its thier life, and most importantly they care about every band member. If you live in texas i would advise you to check TJC out. Just come with a good attitude and and be willing to work your butt off and you will do fine. Plus theres a good scolarship involved.

Currently proud member of the University of Mary Washington Wind and Percussion Ensemble (Slogan: "This would be a lot better if we were marching"....but alas, no football team ). Though I'd like to think I could end up as a member of the Virginia Cavalier Marching Band at some point in the next year or two...hopefully (but that's a whole other story).

I'm in the Gettysburg College Bullet Band. We are pretty small though; about 100 members. Our football team stinks too. Last year we were 1-7.

Our football team stinks too. lol I know how you feel. We're like the football joke of the SEC. It's gotten so bad for us that we play Hail State! (the fightsong) at any opportunity and we've added the Hallelujah Chorus to our cheers list to play when we actually do score!

Hello! I'm with the ONUMB (Ohio Northern University Marching Band) too! Unlike my across the hall neighbor/soon to be roomie, I think we're awesome! Of course, I come from a small town, small band and am not used to the greatness of having 160 people in my band. So, whatever. Anyway, we're going to Rome!

We're actually pretty good, music-wise (could that be because SETAB won't leave it alone?). But our marching...yeah...that's kinda gross...

I, a senior in HS, am leaning heavily toward being a music edu. major at DePauw U. (Greencastle, IN), but I'm still considering Indiana U. (Bloomington, IN) though I have yet to visit the campus, and if all else fails Bowling Green State U. in Ohio. But I favor DePauw (nice, small class sizes; good music program; located in a small, boring rural town, yet the campus is full of activity; very helpful in providing info.; beautiful campus; not far from Indy; no graduate students to compete with; the list goes on...) I know you wrote this awhile ago... but what the heck, I feel like responding anyway ;D I seriously want to go to DePauw for music ed. as well... in fact, I just interviewed and auditioned yesterday. I love it there, I've been there twice, everyone's so friendly! It's been two months since you wrote that.. soo.. uhhh.. do you still want to go there? Have you applied/auditoned/etc yet? If you plan on auditioning, but haven't yet, then I can definitely tell you all about my audition & interview so you know what to expect.

I won't be auditioning until Jan 16, so until then I have nightmares about boching my performance. If accepted I intend on accepting the intvite for admission. Were you there on their preview day last month, not too long ago, whenever Veterans' Day was?

Wow, I guess I did not realize how privileged I was to be at a small private college, with a football team AND marching band...We are the Marching Pumas. Saint Joseph's College of Rensselaer, Indiana. It is okay if you have not heard of it, I hadn't either until my senior year of high school.
