One day I dropped my entire gooseneck-bit-mouthpiece assembly from my sousaphone out of the stands on accident. I was totally freaked out that it would hit someone. I get it back, and find that the mouthpiece is now stuck inside the bit. I take it to a local music store, the main guy takes it back to the shop, and about thirty minutes later he comes back out. "Well, sonny, the mouthpiece's shank was completely flattened, so I hammered it out as best I could." My old-as-hell mouthpiece is now rounder than ever.
"Thanks," I say. "What do I owe you?"
"Ah, I won't charge you for it."

They may charge you a bit much for reeds, but, yeah, you can't beat service like that. Hopefully that holds out when I need them to solder my horn back together...

'nuff said wowwwwwww I have seen some bad stuff in my day but that approaches a new height. We need a mom and pop store around here. The one we had recently went through some major downsizing and has almost nothing now.

A euph horn with the Blue Stars got completely flattened by their prop truck this year....it's on their website, I think.
Never seen a flatter horn in all my years.
End of 92 Phantom Regiment...if you look carefully on the right side of the last form, you can see someone THROW his horn behind the form on the last horns down....seriously.
