I don't know if this is the longest yet, but I haven't touched my clarinet since before Christmas break, which started Dec. 21 or something. And our BD won't be here all this week and most of next week because his wife just had a baby, so it'll be a couple more weeks lol.

About a month over summer break this past year...I NEARLY DIED. (well, not literally, but mentally...) It was because my clari was in for repairs and the loaner they gave me was a piece of crap, to put it nicely!!!!! It was that terrible. I couldn't even play on the dang thing, so I didn't even bother even attempting to practice after that first day, even though I attempted a few DIYs on it in a feeble and desperate attempt to get it to work so I could practice!!

Maybe 2 weeks. My endurance went down. But other than that I was Ok. But how long w/o practicing my scales... now that's another story. Several months, and when i came back to them... ughhhh. I'm amazed I made it in the top band. Probably has something to do with my chromatic, which I love to practice. the BD said it was pretty much the best he'd ever heard.

About ... a month when I was out of the country. It was summer of sixth grade, and when I got back ... yeesh. In restrospect, no wonder I got second-to-last chair in the last band seventh grade ...

I'm out of the country now and can't practice for three weeks... It's going to stink when I get back.

Each summer I make the same mistake over and over again. I never practice. By the time fall comes around, I start making mistakes I never mean to make. Now by not practicing a full three months, that is something I regret!!

This is really hard for me to answer... I know as a freshman when I did color guard I didn't practice much, but I think I still did some. Just, you know, maybe once a week or so. I guess because I've always taken weekly lessons there's always been some motivation to practice at least a bit so I don't walk in and attept to sight-read the assignment for the week.
I'm sure summers have often been times of instrument neglect, but I'm not sure how extreme because this summer I did pretty well. I was away for a week of summer camp and it seemed like forever since I'd played, though I highly doubt that's the longest I've gone without practice. Before I left, I had just gotten the last movement of a Sonata pulled together but when I got back it just died. Like, a month of work had just disapeared.

I've never gone a whole summer without playing before. If I'm off for more than a couple of days, it takes me about 30 minutes of warming up to get me back to normal.
