Okay so in my marching band we only have about 34 people. (We are a new high school.) Amazingly enough there were 12 percussionists, 4 clarinets, 2 altos, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 2 Mellophones, and 2 Sousas. (And 4 Colorguard..) A pretty good balance. The only problem is that if one of us is gone... we are gonna be messed up big time. A couple of people had afterschool college classes or a job and they barely came to rehearsals!! We usually had about 20 people on average. My band director was so ticked... we ended up not having 2 people marching at a couple competitions... We got by allright though. All of us playing louder and all that. One time though this news crew came to interview the Marching Band and (Me being a saxophone) the other sax has a solo at the beginning and I knew the solo but I had not known we were playing that song. I hurried and got my sax from home and he still hadn't arrived until a couple minutes we were live... close calls are a marching band favorite
