Mellos shouldn't be lumped together with trumpets. Mellos are a special breed, a breed that takes alot of time, and care, and nurturing, and self esteem, and a tuner, and ... I guess the point here is MELLOS ARE LOUD and deserve their own Section!
BTW, the mellos in my band rock!! go Shadow Armada!!

Last year we had 15... this year we have like 7 and we're lucky if we can get them all at one practice.

Depends on whether we're talking about people or instruments. I always found the trumpets and bass clarinets to have the coolest people (of course there are tons of exceptions for other sections), but for the coolest instruments the saxophone section wins.
EDIT: Silly me, I had to edit the first sentence because I totally didn't say what I wanted.

in my experiances, low brass, mainly trombones. they know how to have a good time. baritones, were honestly to lazy to do anything, and the tubas are tubas. need no explanation.

Low Brass, to the person that said high brass had parties after every big event, the Low Brass pretty much has a party everyday

I agree with eabone. There is no comparison to the low brass.

In my band, it's the flutes and piccs, followed closely by percussion and saxs. You can't beat a section that does Mega Duck Duck Goose.
